Missions is of vital importance to Newport Christian. The Missions Committee is committed to using the church’s Faith Promise and general missions giving for furthering the Good News throughout the world. Our congregation supports a variety of different missions both in Oregon and around the earth. The missions below are the ones that we support monthly.
Missionaries
KEITH AND KATHY
Keith and Kathy have served in the Mathare Valley slum of Nairobi, Kenya for about 12 years. You can check out their page at CMF for more information or to view a copy of their current newsletter.
JEFF AND PILAR
Jeff and Pilar live in Chiang Mai, Thailand, working at a school for missionary children. Jeff is in charge of the IT department, and Pilar heads the special needs area. For more information about what they are doing in Thailand check out their page at CMF.
DEREK AND PAM
Derek and Pam have served with Agape International Missions in Cambodia since early 2014. Currently, Pam serves as the Teams and Tour Coordinator and Derek works in staff care and development in AIM School in Svay Pak, a very poor community on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. JONI AND NANGSAR
Joni and Nangsar work primarily with Lahu tribes that live in villages in Thailand, doing development projects such as water irrigation and purification systems, building churches and conducting Bible schools. Joni also overseas the management of EDEN, a facility outside of the city of Chiang Mai where leadership training is held.
